This was the first full season of press coverage for football. Wednesday had a very successful time with only one loss (to Broomhall) and seven wins. Wednesday moved this season from Highfield to Myrtle Road. This would have been a field which overlooked the city centre, including Bramall Lane. This may have been on the site of the Ball Inn recreation ground or further along Myrtle Road. Whichever it was it would have been meant a tiring trek up the hill to each home fixture.
The Clegg Brothers played for Wednesday for the first time.
Wednesday played their first out of town match against Derby Saint Andrews. The first match was played at the Queen's Grounds (which is at Hillsborough Corner) when Wednesday stuffed Derby by seven goals to nil.
